PGMBC Church Family Bereavement Notice π️It is with heartfelt sympathy and deep compassion that I share with you that Brother Dennis Smith, husband of Sister Kimberly Smith, has experienced the loss of his beloved mother, Mrs. Dolores Smith, who transitioned on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Family,
It is with heartfelt sympathy and deep compassion that I share with you that Brother Dennis Smith, husband of Sister Kimberly Smith, has experienced the loss of his beloved mother, Mrs. Dolores Smith, who transitioned on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Dania Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Smith had been courageously battling breast cancer. Although she had been ill, her passing came suddenly following a medical emergency, and the family was not prepared for this transition. This loss has come as a heavy blow.
As many of you know, the Smith family has endured significant grief over the past two years, including the tragic loss of their son and grandson in a car accident. This recent transition adds another layer to an already tender season of sorrow. Truly, this is a time where the family needs the covering, love, and intercession of the church.
As their pastor, I am asking that we earnestly pray for Brother Dennis, Sister Kimberly, and their entire family. Losing a mother is never easy, and this moment requires our compassion, our presence, and our prayers.
Yet even in grief, we stand on the promises of God. The Word reminds us:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
We also take comfort in knowing that Mrs. Dolores Smith was a woman of faith, and we believe she is now resting in the presence of the Lord. God’s love is eternal, and His peace is still available—even in moments like these.
Let us surround the Smith family with love, encouragement, and support. A call, a message, and especially your prayers will mean more than words can express.
Additional arrangements will be shared as they become available. For now let’s pray for their safe travel to join their family to grieve together.
On behalf of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, we extend our deepest condolences and unwavering support.
With love and pastoral care,
Pastor Johnnie B. Porter M. Div.
